About Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED)

A conversation starter, not a clinical test.

Other specified feeding or eating disorder is used when eating or feeding symptoms cause significant distress or impairment but do not meet every criterion for another feeding or eating disorder. Examples can include atypical anorexia nervosa, lower-frequency or shorter-duration bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder, purging disorder and night eating syndrome.

This self-check cannot assess all diagnostic criteria, medical causes, severity or overlapping conditions. A comprehensive physical and mental health assessment is the right next step when concerns persist.
