About Rumination Disorder (RD)

A conversation starter, not a clinical test.

Rumination disorder involves repeated regurgitation of food after eating. Food may be re-chewed, re-swallowed or spit out. It is different from occasional reflux or vomiting from another medical condition, and a clinician must assess possible causes.

This self-check cannot assess all diagnostic criteria, medical causes, severity or overlapping conditions. A comprehensive physical and mental health assessment is the right next step when concerns persist.
