The questions people ask first

If yours is not here, you are always welcome to just ask on a free intro call.

Do I need a referral to see a dietitian?

No referral is needed. You can reach out directly to book a free, no-pressure introductory call. Physicians and other clinicians are welcome to refer a patient through the online referral form.

Are sessions really all virtual?

Yes. Every session is held online by secure video, so you can meet from anywhere in Ontario with no commute and no waiting room.

What does Lauren help with?

Your relationship with food and body, disordered eating, chronic dieting, intuitive eating, digestion and energy, and general wellbeing. The approach is non-diet, weight-inclusive, and judgment free.

Is Lauren a registered dietitian?

Yes. Lauren Hofstee is a Registered Dietitian registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario, with a Master of Applied Nutrition from the University of Guelph.

What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?

In Ontario, Registered Dietitian is a legally protected, regulated title. Nutritionist, on its own, is not regulated. Working with an RD means there is accountability and evidence-based training behind your care.

Will you put me on a diet or a meal plan?

No. The work is non-diet. The goal is a calmer, more trusting relationship with food, not a set of rules to follow.

Do you offer a free first call?

Yes. The introductory call is free and there is no pressure to continue. It is simply a chance to see if working together feels right.

Where in Ontario do you work?

Everywhere. Because care is virtual, Lauren works with clients across the province, from the major cities to small towns and the north.

Still wondering if this is right for you?

The first call is free, and there is no pressure to continue.
