Book a free intro callLauren Hofstee is a Registered Dietitian who has spent several years specializing in eating disorder recovery. She offers the nutrition side of recovery with warmth and no judgment, helping you move away from fear and rules around food toward something steadier and more free. Every session is virtual, so you can work together from anywhere in Canada, at a pace that feels safe.
A dietitian is a core part of eating disorder care, usually working alongside a therapist and a physician. Lauren focuses on the food and body side: helping you eat regularly and adequately again, gently challenging food rules and fear foods, making sense of hunger and fullness after they have been disrupted, and slowly taking the fear and the morality out of eating. The work is collaborative and never about willpower.
Lauren does not prescribe diets, meal plans built on restriction, or weight-loss goals. Her approach is non-diet and weight-inclusive, which means the goal is a calmer, more trusting relationship with food and your body, not a number on a scale. All foods fit. For people who have been harmed by diet culture or years of restriction, this is often the first time food has felt allowed.
People reach out at every stage and from every kind of struggle. Common ones include binge eating, restriction and chronic dieting, bulimia, orthorexia, ARFID, and disordered eating that does not fit a single label. Many people come simply wanting to heal their relationship with food and feel less at war with their body. Wherever you are on that spectrum, you are welcome.
Recovery is rarely a straight line, and it is not about eating perfectly. It is about eating enough, building meals and snacks you can rely on, and letting food become quieter in your mind so there is room for the rest of your life. Lauren meets you exactly where you are, listens to your whole story, and moves forward with you slowly and safely, celebrating the small steps that add up.
No referral is needed. You can reach out directly and start with a free, no-pressure introductory call, a relaxed conversation to see if working together feels right. From there, sessions are held by secure video on a schedule that suits you. With your consent, Lauren is glad to coordinate with your therapist or physician so your care stays connected.
Eating disorders are serious, and reaching out is brave. If you need urgent or crisis support, the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) offers a free, confidential helpline at 1-866-633-4220. You do not have to wait until things feel bad enough. Support is for any stage.
