What a free intro call with a dietitian is like

If a free intro call feels a little unknown, here is exactly what it is, what happens on it, and what it is not, so you can reach out with less nervousness.

What it actually is

A free intro call is a short, no cost conversation before you commit to anything. Think of it as a chance to meet, ask questions, and get a feel for whether working together makes sense. It is not a session, not an assessment, and not a sales pitch. It exists so you can make a calm, informed decision instead of booking blind. Most people find it far lower stakes than they expected once they are actually on the call.

What happens on the call

Usually it runs around fifteen to twenty minutes by phone or video. I might ask a little about what brought you here and what you are hoping for, and you can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. Mostly it is your time to ask whatever you want: how sessions work, what the approach is, cost and coverage, scheduling, anything at all. There is no intake form to fill out and no history you have to walk through in detail. It is a conversation, not an examination.

What it is not

You will not be weighed, put on a plan, or handed a list of foods to avoid. There is no lecture, no pressure, and no judgment about your eating or your body. You will not be pushed to book, and saying it is not the right fit is a completely fine outcome. The whole point is to reduce pressure, not add it. If part of you is bracing for a hard sell, you can let that go.

Why it helps to have one

Choosing someone to support your relationship with food is personal, and fit matters more than credentials alone. An intro call lets you notice how it feels to talk with someone before any money or commitment is involved. Do you feel heard? Does the approach sound like something you could trust? Those questions are hard to answer from a website. A short conversation usually tells you more than an hour of reading.

How to prepare, if you want to

You do not need to prepare anything at all. If it helps to feel ready, you might jot down a question or two, or a sentence about what has been hard lately, but none of that is required. Find a reasonably private spot where you can speak freely, and come as you are. Feeling a little nervous is normal and completely okay. You do not have to have the right words.

If you are thinking about reaching out

If reading this made the idea feel a little more doable, that is a good sign. The introductory call is free, short, and carries no obligation to continue. It is simply a low pressure way to see how it feels to talk with me and to get your questions answered, whenever you feel ready.

Questions

Is the intro call really free, with no catch?

Yes. It is genuinely free and there is no obligation to book sessions afterward. It exists so you can decide whether the fit feels right, with no pressure either way.

What if I get nervous or do not know what to say?

That is completely normal and totally fine. You do not need polished questions or a clear plan. I can guide the conversation, and you can share only what feels comfortable. Simply showing up is enough.

If any of this sounds like you

The first call is free, and there is no pressure to continue. It is just a calm conversation about what you are looking for.
