A registered dietitian for Mississauga, wherever you are in it

Mississauga is close enough to Toronto that its services get described as nearby, which is not the same as being here. I work with people across the city online, so getting support does not start with a drive into Toronto and a fight for parking.

Lauren is based in Guelph and Toronto and works virtually across Ontario. That means people in Mississauga can access specialized nutrition counselling without travelling to a clinic, while still working with someone registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

If you searched for a dietitian in Mississauga

You may be looking for general nutrition advice, but many people land here because food has become louder than they want it to be. You might be dealing with restriction, binge eating, guilt after eating, fear foods, body checking, or feeling unsure whether your eating is serious enough to deserve support. It is enough to start a conversation.

What I help with

Every person who reaches out is met where they are. These are the main reasons people in Mississauga and across Ontario look for this kind of care:

Serving Mississauga and the surrounding area

Because care is virtual, I work with clients in Mississauga and nearby communities including Port Credit, Streetsville, Meadowvale, and the GTA, as well as people right across Ontario. You do not need to live near a clinic to get thoughtful, registered dietitian support. You can also browse every Ontario city served.

Close to Toronto is not the same as served by Toronto

None of the specialized eating disorder organizations on the verified provincial list is based in Mississauga. The nearest ones are in Toronto: group support at Sheena's Place, the hospital program at Toronto General, and SickKids for children and adolescents. On a map that looks like a short hop. In practice it is a trip, at a fixed time, on a weekday, often in the same hours as everyone else who is trying to get somewhere.

That matters more than it should, because the appointments that help most are the regular ones. A weekly session you can actually keep is worth more than a better sounding one you cancel twice a month. Whatever removes friction is doing real clinical work, even when it looks like a convenience.

It is also worth saying that virtual care is not a workaround invented for people who live outside a downtown. It is how a large part of this field already operates. Body Brave, for example, is based in Hamilton but delivers its recovery services virtually, and states on its own site that its services are free of charge and that no referral is needed. The hospital program at Toronto General runs a twelve week intensive outpatient stream by videoconference. Meeting by video is not the lesser version of the appointment.

What virtual does not solve is finding a private hour. Mississauga has a lot of full houses and a lot of shared space. If you need to take a session from a parked car, from a spare room, or with headphones and the door closed, that is fine, and it is common. Nothing about the work requires a particular setting, and nothing requires you to have a camera on.

If you already have a family doctor here, they stay in the picture. Medical monitoring is the part of eating disorder care that a dietitian cannot replace, and the nutrition work goes better alongside it. Eating disorder care in Ontario is usually three roles rather than one, and none of them needs to be in the same building as the others. If you are only able to arrange one of the three right now, arrange whichever one will actually give you an appointment, and build the rest out from there.
