Book a free intro callNorth Bay is the gateway city between southern and northeastern Ontario, and it is one of the few northern cities with an eating disorder program of its own. The catch is who that program is allowed to serve. I work with people across North Bay and the surrounding districts by video.
Lauren is based in Guelph and Toronto and works virtually across Ontario. That means people in North Bay can access specialized nutrition counselling without travelling to a clinic, while still working with someone registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
You may be looking for general nutrition advice, but many people land here because food has become louder than they want it to be. You might be dealing with restriction, binge eating, guilt after eating, fear foods, body checking, or feeling unsure whether your eating is serious enough to deserve support. It is enough to start a conversation.

Sessions happen by secure video from wherever you are in North Bay. Nothing to prepare, nothing to weigh.
We work at your pace toward a calmer, steadier relationship with food and your body.
Every person who reaches out is met where they are. These are the main reasons people in North Bay and across Ontario look for this kind of care:
Nutrition support for anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, ARFID, orthorexia, and eating that feels frightening or out of control.
Compassionate, weight-inclusive care when food, exercise, rules, guilt, or body image have started to take over.
A non-diet approach to binge eating, emotional eating, and the restrict-binge cycle, without shame or more rules.
Gentle support for food anxiety, fear foods, avoidance, and the slow work of feeling safer around eating.
Help for chronic dieting, body checking, food guilt, and rebuilding trust with your body at a steadier pace.
Work with a Registered Dietitian online from anywhere in Ontario, with receipts for extended health reimbursement.
Because care is virtual, I work with clients in North Bay and nearby communities including Callander, Lake Nipissing, and the near north, as well as people right across Ontario. You do not need to live near a clinic to get thoughtful, registered dietitian support. You can also browse every Ontario city served.
North Bay is better served than most of the north. The Eating Disorders Program at North Bay Regional Health Centre is a specialized outpatient service that supports children, adolescents and adults, by referral from a primary care provider. For residents of North Bay itself, that is a real and valuable local resource.
The important detail is its catchment. The program is a community-based service for the Nipissing District, which means people who live just outside that district line, in neighbouring parts of the northeast, are generally not eligible for it, even though they may be closer to North Bay than to anywhere else. For those residents, the nearest program is one they cannot actually use.
Virtual nutrition counselling does not follow a district boundary. It is open to anyone in Ontario, whether you live inside the Nipissing catchment or just past its edge, and it needs no referral to begin. If you are eligible for the North Bay program and want it, private dietitian work can run alongside it with your consent rather than replacing it.
Catchment lines are invisible until they stop you, and finding out you live on the wrong side of one, while already unwell, is a demoralising thing. It is also nobody's personal failing. Health regions are drawn for administrative reasons, not around where people actually need help. Virtual nutrition care simply does not have that boundary, so where you fall relative to the Nipissing line has no bearing on whether you can begin. Whether you are in North Bay itself or in one of the smaller communities around it, the care reaches you the same way, and it can start without waiting to find out which region you officially belong to.
